ON the BBC, David Cameron has hailed US president-elect Barack Obama as the first of a new generation of world leaders.
From the lead from the Daily Express..."ONE hundred and forty-three years after the abolition of slavery, America today acclaimed its first black president.
And the New York Times leads with,
"Racial Barrier Falls as Voters Embrace Call for Change"."
No matter what is going on, tonight we at least have hope that we have turned the page, that things can get better, that we can all work together.
I'm up for it.

This is a bit of a ramble and I am not sure what it means, so bear with me.
Just read an article that is talking about the relationship between SaaS and Open Source by Matt Asay on his CNET blog The Open Road.
Matt talks about the fact that Open Source and SaaS are both 'freemium' models, etc.
Seems to me that many of the issues or concerns that customers have with open source, translate word-for-word to cloud computing. Conversely, many of the value propositions of open source translate word-for-word to cloud computing.
If that's the case, why not go cloud and not have any IT overhead?
Hmmmm

Society for New Communications Research named Dell the SNCR Brand of the Year.
Telligent was intrumental in Dell's original endeavor to engage their customers with the Direct2Dell blog and was recently named the community and social platform for all of Dell's social initiatives.
So this is a pretty cool thing. Congrats to Dell and thanks for allowing Telligent to be part of it.

Well, today Rob Howard and Josh Ledgard brought the in.Telligent Conference to a close this morning with a look at the future of online communities and enterprise collaboration along with a review of where Telligent is going with our full suite of products.
We had 200 people from all over the world. China, Norway, United Kingdom and Israel, among others.
We had a great time and we are gathering feedback and already planning for in.Telligent 2009.
Thanks so much to the folks that really made it happen: Shaunna Villareal, Delia Johnson, Courtney Taylor, Brandi Reed, Amy Wood and all the Telligent staff who gave such great presentations.
Also want to thank our guest speakers: Sean McDonald, Tim Mustain, Jean-Claude Monney, and Paul Manikas.
Can't wait till next year.

We are thrilled to say that we filled up the first annual in.Telligent Conference with 200 developers, online community strategists and business decision makers.
in.Telligent kicks off Monday morning with Telligent CEO Rob Howard discussing online community success stories. Then on Tuesday, Sean McDonald, Dell Director of Communities and Conversations presents the morning keynote.
Then it all concludes Wednesday morning with a special two hour presentation on the future of social computing and online communities.
In between these keynote addresses are a full slate of sessions that cover both the strategic side of social computing and online communities and the technical side of utilizing Telligent's industry leading platforms.
It's all taking place at the newly renovated Westin Galleria Hotel in the heart of north Dallas.
It's gonna be fun. If you didn't get in this year, be sure not to miss it next year.
